The day ofspecial mission units

The day of special mission units is comparatively a young professional holiday in Russia, it was set on may 31, 2006 by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Date of October 24, was not chosen by chance. On this day, in 1950, the Minister for the Armed forces of the USSR and Minister of War of the USSR, the Marshal of Soviet Union A.Vasilevsky signed Directive no ORG/2/395/832 with the stamp «Secret» about the creation of special mission units (SPN).

The special mission units (Russian Spetsnaz GRU) are considered the best trained units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The Spetsnaz have created a fierce reputation as one of the best special forces in the world today due to the very harsh standards of their training. They are controlled by the GRU.

  1. As the football fan, I'd like to mention about Roman Abramovich from the poinf of view as the director of one on the best football clubs not only in Britain, But in the world also.

In June 2003, he became the owner of the companies that control Chelsea Football Club in the United Kingdom. His wealth often allows the club to purchase players virtually at will although that has changed in recent years. He did however sanction the transfer of Andriy Shevchenko for a then British record transfer fee of around £30 million.

In the year ending June 2005, Chelsea posted record losses of £140 million and the club is not expected to record a trading profit before 2010, though this did decrease to reported losses of £80.2 million year ending June 2006.

In January 2011, Spanish footballer Fernando Torres completed his move to Chelsea on a five-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee reported to be £50 million, which set a new record for a British transfer and made him the fourth most expensive footballer in history.

  2. I found a definition of spetsnaz and I'd like to share it with you.
Spetsnaz GRU was an elite military formation under the control of the military intelligence service GRU. It was the first Soviet/Russian spetsnaz (special forces) force, more than two decades older than its KGB/FSB. The full acronym is GRU or Glavnoye Razvedyvatel'noye Upravleniye Generalnovo Shtaba meaning Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff (of the Russian Federation). The acronym, however, is usually shortened to just GRU which stands for Glavnoye Razvedyvatel'noye Upravleniye (English: Main Intelligence Directorate). The word "Spetsnaz" is often written in all capital letters ("SPETSNAZ").
